I'd always adored Final Fantasy and the character designs and had intention of cosplaying some of them I just wasn't sure when. But Vanille jumped out at me because of her unique design, In addition the costume required little sewing and a lot more craft work which I enjoy immensely and thus I was extremely drawn to her as a character. Needless to say I was excited to make her outfit and she became my first Final Fantasy character to come to life of a long and growing list.

The overall contribution of a majority of the costume was simple, just a skirt, top, and "butt" skirt/flap - it was the details that weren't as easy. Her skirt is gradient dyed so it was my first time attempting that, but it came out very well In my opinion. I wasn't able to find the fabric I wanted for the belt and back decoration, so I ended up making it out of craft foam.

The biggest and most grueling part, that always stuns most people, is all of the beads are handmade. I drilled, cut, sanded, painted and strung all of the beads. They totaled around 1300 when I was done making them - but I of course have some extra. About 1000 beads went into this costume, and the beads alone are what make this costume one of my favorites.

Costume Worn At: Anime Expo 2010, Saboten-Con 2010, & DEVASTATION 2011

About Me: I'm currently living in Arizona and have been cosplaying since 2007. I've been interested in Japanese entertainment since watching Sailor Moon at the age of three - and learned about cosplay in 2006 while wanted to make Kairi's Kingdom Hearts 2 outfit.
