Worn: Sakura con 2011, Phoenix Comicon 2011, Anime Expo 2011, Otakon 2011, Taiyou con 2012 Awards: Best costume (Atomic Comics animefest), Best craftsmanship in Journeyman.

I can't say I'm normally a real girly girl, but this character has totally won me over. I think this is just one of those characters that I really connected with while watching the series, and felt like we had somewhat matching personalities. This was one of my first costumes that I made drafting the pattern completely from scratch, which was quite the learning experience. Though I'm very happy with my color choice and the over all out come, I made this costume just a week and a half before Sakura con and there were a few things I didn't have time to fix.

Construction

The base of the skirt is just a simple circle skirt that I added the blue stripe on top with a close and tight zig zag stitch. The mid section and top are two separate pieces. The silver bands along the top and the arm pieces are a stretch material casing with craft foam inside to help give it a nice clean shape. The hearts are plastic ornaments that I painted on the inside and glued craft foam on the back to secure the pins. And the bracelets are just something I found at my local fabric store and painted silver. I'm proud to say I've made just about everything on this costume but the shoes.

Based out of Arizona, I've been cosplaying since 2004. My mother is 1/2 Japanese, so I've been adapted into the Japanese culture from a young age and became very fond of the anime community. Out side of the sewing room, I also enjoy the aspects of cosplay photography. My favorite show is Evangelion, and my favorite games series is the Legend of Zelda.
