Rainbow Dash is a pegasus pony from the city of Cloudsdale, but she mostly resides in Ponyville where she is responsible for maintaining the weather and clearing the skies. She is also a huge admirer of The Wonderbolts and dreams of one day joining their elite flying group. Rainbow Dash represents the Element of Loyalty. Her cutie mark is a rainbow-colored lightning bolt.

The Grand Galloping Gala is an annual royal ball attended primarily by high-class ponies. To attend this event, held in Canterlot, one must possess a golden ticket. Rarity designs gowns for the Gala for her friends. When Rainbow Dash attends the Gala, though she gets to meet The Wonderbolts, she is disappointed that she does not get to perform with them or spend much time with them.
