J. Kerenaith Munro - Steampunk Busker

I did a little busking on the bank of the Charles River at the Watch City Festival in Waltham, Massachusetts. To dress up my melodica (keyboard harmonica), I borrowed 10’ of copper-painted pool-cleaner tubing and a small gramophone horn from a packrat friend. A facepainter friend, Elizabeth Stone, did the gold decorations on the gramophone horn. When I got to the Waltham everything was still in pieces. In the absence of a hardware store stocking copper pipe connectors, I visited a church rummage sale down the street from the festival and ended up attaching the horn to the tubing with a couple of splints, a lot of black duct tape, and some old bow ties tied over the duct tape. An old man at the rummage sale helped me put everything together while I tried to explain what steampunk is!
