Soul Calibur IV ソウルキャリバーIV Photographer: Aria See more images of Talim Well, this is my cosplay of Talim, from the videogame Soul Calibur IV. I wore it on Japan Weekend Madrid 2012, in Spain. I made almost all the cosplay by myself, except for some help from Aria's Father -the kameko- with the Tonfas. I've used a lot of materials: Wood, false leather, cotton, foam, forex... For me, the most difficult part of this cosplay was make the vest -really!- It's the last part of the cosplay that I finished, and I wanted to make it look like it was made of several pieces. The most fun part was painting on the fabrics! I studied printing on fabrics, so I've felt like I was in the classroom. I like so much Talim. She's young but brave, and fights for others, rather than for her own good or interests. I think I fit well the character of Talim for the height and build of her body. Soul Calibur is a very important game for me: When I was a child my brother used to play videogames with me, and I had a good time. But now he doesn't want to play anymore with me, and I feel really sad about this. I hope fans of Soul Calibur like my cosplay: A lot of people were surprised that the trousers where a bit gauzy, but it's how the character wears them. This cosplay has given me lot of self confidence. Some people have been really rude to me, telling me that I'm a whore for dressing as this character. I can't understand why people judge the person just for a cosplay. Really, I can't. Also, I can't show pictures of my cosplay to my parents - they where hoping that I was wearing some leggins under the trousers hahaha! I got into cosplay few years ago, but I have liked it for the past nine years: I loved to wear costumes, and looked at people with costumes of the series and comics that I liked was so perfect, and I said "I want to do it too!!" But I've taken cosplay seriously a few years ago: I think that cosplay is an expression of Art. First of all, there's hard work behind it, and finally, it's a way of life. It's a way of break the habit of common life. I have won some cosplay contests! I was on the pre-selection of Spanish Yamato Cosplay in Barcelona with my cosplay of Le Chevalier D'Eon, and I've appeared on Cosmakers International with it. Recently, I've won the 10th Prize on Japan Weekend Madrid with this cosplay of Talim, and I'm very proud of it. Cosplayer: Minato Follow us on Twitter @DailyCosplay or Facebook for the latest news.
