I was on a Dutch anime convention when we (me and my husband, Mr.Eyes as you may call him) took those photos. Very good conventiton!

The costume was made with simple materiais, the Hylian shield and Master Sword are made with wood, paperboard, glue, many kinds of paper and rubber, for example.

The Hylian shiled and elf ears were the most difficult parts to make, they took me months! Specially because I didn't know how to work with latex/rubber by this time, it was the first experience.

Link is the famous hero from the game series The Legend of Zelda, created by Nintendo. The Zelda games are famous to have dungeons to solve, adventure, battle and puzzle situations. The "Link version" I chose is from the game "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess". This game is a bit more obscure and realistic, a beautiful mix of nordic/celtic/medieval culture and beautiful fields... magical things that you may also find on other Zelda games.

I admire Link since the old games, it means, since my childhood. Even if he is a wild hero, at same time he portrays himself as a pure character that always would make the right choices, because he is good and gentle.

As I'm born in Brazil but currently living in Holland you may imagine I went to conventions on both countries or more! In Brazil it was "Anime Jungle" and "Anime Dreams", in Holland I recently went to "Abunai" with my husband, but we also went to "Japan Expo" on Belgium. We are planning to visit many future ones on europe.

Fans seem to be very enthusiastic about the costume! It makes me relieved haha, it's very nice to cosplay a character simply because you like it but is also very nice to see people's reaction.

I got into cosplay after I read an article about it on the internet, it was on 2005. I shared the idea with a good friend and we decided to cosplay together, then after that you might imagine how it went! Luckily, by this year it was also happening the first anime convention on my town called "Bakudan". Nowadays it doesn't exist anymore, but it was very fun anyway.

I used to participate of some contests, always with a friend because I'm way too shy to go only by myself. We got first place on two convention contests and I even tried to participate of the WCS (World Cosplay Summit) once. I lost, but it was a good experience anyway. Nowadays I'm not daring to participate, still because I feel too shy to do it alone and also... I just want to have fun!
