We are a couple who have been making costumes together since 2010. Nobody has been cosplaying and going to conventions since 2004, and reconnected with cosplaying recently. She introduced Bllacksheep to cosplaying in 2010, and since then they have been making costumes of characters that work together in pairs.

The Shiva Sisters is the second costume we've made together. For those who are unfamiliar with the characters, they come from the game Final Fantasy XIII and are depicted as "icey goddesses" who can transform into a motorcycle.

The idea to make this costume came from a joint goal of making a purely tandem cosplay...and although this costume was technically comprised of two characters, it was our ultimate goal not only to make two individual costumes, but to make a legitimate looking motorcycle when put together. Entirely, this project took us a full year (on and off).

The costumes were remade a total of three times, all reworked to prioritize lightness and an over all visual smoothness. From lacquer, epoxy, fiberglass, and resins we worked vigorously to find the right material for the job. In the end we settled on a polyester resin, and despite numerous tests, failures, and challenges, this costume was a awesome learning experience and we are very pleased with the final product!

This costume is currently retired, but we have worn it to numerous conventions. The photos seen depict the third and final version of this costume and were taken by the lovely Henrickson at Otakon' 12.
