Fran is a brave and fascinating Viera warrior, and she is Balthier's partner aboard his airship. I loved Fran's armor from the first moment that I saw her and I loved her elegance and her look from the first moment she appeared on the screen! A costume like that requires easily workable materials. Initially it seemed like a tragedy, because I wanted a flawless costume, I wanted her hair to be thick and flowing, and I wanted the costume to be perfectly balanced and durable... I wanted it all! XD

I made the costume by myself, using craft foam for every part of it! :) When I discovered the foam I opened a world, was the perfect material! Easy to cut, easy to shape, easy to glue, easy to color and adjust! **

And so little by little I made patterns and I created the costume! I discovered a way to not ruin the epr paint and make resistant material, which otherwise would have remained very soft (secret:P). Also for the corset I invented a way to make it perfectly form fitting and strapless. I found a wonderful tutorial for the wig, which consisted in inserting a foam cone in the back of the head and then coating it with hair, I did a couple of ears of forex (so take the form forever XD) covered with hair which I then painted the black tip (like its **) The most difficult was definitely the helmet, but eventually I made it XD (I remade twice @. @)

I've worn the costume on march 2011 at Cartoomics convention in Milan :)
