Ragnarok Online Photographer: Annie Fischinger My name is Kathy and I am a creative costume model & artist, currently living in the UK (but originally from Germany). I love to design, take photographs, illustrate and play video games – and of course: cosplay! I started cosplaying back then in 2003/2004, together with my two best friends. We discovered the hobby together and decided that we want to continue doing it, once we tried it for the first time. My personal highlight was being chosen as Team Germany for the World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya, Japan, in 2008! After that, I took a break to finish school, start an apprentice-ship and manage my university studies. Since Summer 2012 I am back! Making the costume: For the very first time I tried something new that involved less sewing and a lot of crafting! The process of making the costume took several days as I had to prepare all the single jewelry parts and fit them with sequins, pearls and other gem stones. The most difficult part, though, was to not lose your mind whilst putting on all the single elements one by one. In the end, it turned out to be one of my favourite costumes so far, as I love the details and how "glittery" and shiney it is! I think, this was the very first costume where I somehow felt really comfortable with (even though it is quite revealing). There was no part that felt wrong or that had to be adjusted over time. People passing by seemed to like it quite a lot as well, as in that time video game cosplay was not that popular and the costume can be easily mistaken with a general belly dancer costume. The photos were taken by Annie Fischinger (one of those two friends I mentioned in the beginning) and the location was a church nearby the Connichi in Kassel, Germany, in 2010. The shoot was a lot of fun as I could dance around with my fabric floating in the wind and all the sequins shimmering! Cosplayer: Cosbabe
