To be honest, I’ve even didn’t think to cosplay Astrid when in February a good friend on mine asked me to do her in a team (she going to cosplay Stormfly, Astrid’s dragon). Also other my friends were going to cosplay Hiccup and Toothless. So we planned these cosplays for the summer, before the Russian premiere of HTTYD2. But I knew that this costume wouldn’t be cheap for me ’couse of much fur in costume.

In May I started to sew the costume and craft the axe. In this costume for the first time I used Worbla (skull on belt and influx).

Usually I plan photoshoots early, think about place and idea, after I wrote the photographer. This time I go another way. We found place, think of idea with Elya in the days before the photoshoot. But it was fine and the result was awesome!

I really love HTTYD fandom, and Astrid was one of my fav characters - she strong, strong, proud, bold, but beautiful, graceful and clever. For me her character was close to mine.
