This is my female version of Punished/Venom Snake from the latest installment of the Metal Gear Solid Series: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

I wore this cosplay at the Mega Manga Convention 2015 in Berlin - Germany. An amazing photographer, A.Z. Production Cosplay Photography asked me for a photoshoot and the fall atmosphere was perfectly fitting for the cosplay.

I made it of traditional military clothes and adjusted them to my measurements. Belts, patch, horn, idroid and other stuff were selfmade. Certain details were bought (like the gun holster, to make it look more professional), the bionic arm was made of a type of hardplastic, red foil and other no name material, all pasted to a black glove, finally painted with many details, making it easy to wear all day :)

The most dificult thing was actually to keep the scars and horn in place. I noticed too late I used too heavy material for the horn and I struggled a bunch keeping it where it was supposed to be *laughs* Also, creating a good female version, with many references to other MGS games, took me a long long time.

Punished/Venom Snake is a really cool character and the true story that is behind it (I won’t spoil it to you) is truly mindblowing and amazing. I have been wanting to cosplay a version of snake for a long time, metal gear solid being one of my favorite game franchises ever, therefore it was about time for me.

I was really happy how positively recieved my cosplay was, with many messages on my twitter account and even Hideo Kojima and Konami (MGS Producer, creator... and MGS company) sharing and enjoying my cosplay! It was to me like Senpai noticed me :D hahah.

I always loved cosplay, but I just recently became a real cosplayer, I guess :) 2013 was the first real cosplay I did, not counting other costumes I did before that. A friend of mine invited me to a convention and since then I’m all into it!

I haven’t participated any cosplay contest yet, i was asked to, but personally I never felt the urge to and I felt my cosplays still needed a bunch of improvement. I want to feel perfectly confident in my work and the character portraying. Next year (2016) is gonna be a big cosplay year for me and I hope people enjoy my cosplays the way I did creating and wearing them :)
