Jaine Proudmoore is a badass mage from the Warcraft universe. I love that she is a strong character! When I saw the Winter Veil Skin for Heroes of the Storm the decision was made - I needed to cosplay her and spread some holiday spirit!

The photoshoot took place in the village we live. We went to our Village Square, where a huge Christmas tree was set up. It was the first time ever our neighbours saw me wearing a cosplay! Some even came over and told me they liked the "dress". This was really nice to show them my hobby and explain cosplay to them.

I decided to make the costume out of all kinds of fabric and leather, so no thermoplast or plastic in general was used. I wanted the soft materials like linen, leather, velvet and fleece for more holiday cosiness.

The most difficult part of the costume was a whole lot of hand sewing. The appliqués and braids and fake fur were not suited for working with a sewing machine, so it took a long time so finish all the details by handstitching.

I got into cosplay over 10 years ago after seeing the Lord of the Rings movies. I had to have an elvish dress! Then one came to another, with the dress came conventions, costuming friends and today I cannot imagine a life without costume making.
