In the visual novel Fate/Stay Night, Gorgon Medusa is summoned to participate in the war for Holy Grail as a mage’s servant of class Rider. This was the first visual novel I ever read, and the portrayal of this fabled character from Greek mythology made a big impression on me.

I purposefully shot this costume in the studio, so that it would allow me to simulate the surreal atmosphere of the CG art that I love so much with the edits, thus both pulling Rider out of the game and putting myself into it.

The costume was rather simple for me to make, it is mostly lycra and plastic foil to keep some pieces in place. What was most important about it is the impression I had to make while wearing it, specifically on Belgrade Comic Salon 2014, where I won the prize for Best Enlivened Manga Character with it.

I’ve been into cosplay for a year an a half, and along the way I discovered I feel most comfortable when cosplaying male characters, but from time to time I also drop in a costume of a dear female character to add to the fun.
