I am Battle Bunny Riven, from the game League of Legends! It’s a bunny suit and a carrot sword and it’s incredibly fun! She’s a strong character who fights for what she believes in and I enjoy playing her even if I’m not that great in general ahahah! and the bunnysuit seemed like such an irresistible challenge I couldn’t help myself.

The cosplay was broken down into three parts; the bunny suit, the sword, and the accessories. The bunny suit I tackled first way ahead of time and I’m glad I did because it took by far the longest with it being a corset with a bottom and done in steel boning. I’ve gone through 2 versions from scratch trying to find the shape I wanted from the suit and it was worth it! The sword was my first time making a large prop that I could dissemble and make it easier to take with me for conventions. I think I spent more time filling and sanding then I did anything else. The accessories were fairly easy to bang out as there were not that many and fairly easy. I adore how floppy my ears are!

The most difficult part hands down was the bunny suit as it’s a massive amount of labour to create such a tiny garment. It’s a double layered corset with 20 channels of straight and spiral steel boning that’s custom fitted to my body. I had never attempted something like this ever so to have the final garment now is amazing to me.

So far she’s been worn to PAXeast 2014, Anime North, and Otakuthon! I’ve had a wonderful reaction that’s been nothing but positive and I could not wish for anything more then that.

I first discovered cosplay when I was googling my favourite Final Fantasy characters and people showed up in my search dressed up! I was so interested I decided to try it myself and became hooked! I’ve been cosplaying for seven years and making my own cosplay for six.
